Lead Software Engineer

BryceTech is looking for experienced Software Engineer to support an opportunity with a defense client. The successful candidate will work with an integrated team to:

  • Develop, prioritize, and lead software engineering activities across a team of contractors working directly with the government client.
  • Anticipate and communicate problems or challenges to the government client with recommended solutions.
  • Capable of tracking and managing multiple software engineering efforts across a diverse mission.
  • Conduct technical assessments of development programs potentially including benchmarking and development or use of common software evaluation tools and metrics.
  • Maintain awareness and support coordination across government agencies and services. 
  • Maintain awareness of, and exploit, emerging research to identify opportunities for transition.  
  • Provide clear, concise, and consistent reports, briefs, and oral presentations to senior leadership.
  • Represents senior leadership at meeting with other offices, interagency, industry, academia, and other partners. 
  • Assist with program tracking contract milestones and deliverables
  • Active Secret required.
  • BS in field supporting software engineering, advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience
  • Expertise managing software development
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and multi-tasking ability
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and quantitative skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and written/verbal communication skills
  • Experience working in a deadline-driven environment
  • Demonstrated ability to use logic to collect, evaluate and synthesize multiple sources of information, e.g., articles and research papers

When you bring additional fields into a conversion, Quickbase often finds inconsistencies. For example, say you're converting your Companies column into its own table. One company, Acme Corporation, has offices in New York, Dallas and Portland. So, when you add the City column to the conversion, Quickbase finds three different locations for Acme. A single value in the column you're converting can only match one value in any additional field. Quickbase needs you to clean up the extra cities before it can create your new table. To do so, you have one of two choices:

  • If you want to create three separate Acme records (Acme-New York, Acme-Dallas and Acme-Portland) click the Conform link at the top of the column.
  • If the dissimilar entries are mistakes (say Acme only has one office in New York and the other locations are data-entry errors) go back into your table and correct the inconsistencies—in this case, changing all locations to New York. Then try the conversion again.
